About the Role

This hands-on role will be fundamental to the continued success of the business and will require a highly motivated and results-driven individual. You will be supported by a strong Internal Sales, Marketing and Software Development team.

The role will see you attending events in the UK and abroad, representing the company and service professionally to prospective and existing clients. It involves the full sales lifecycle including bespoke, consultative projects once fully proficient.

Extensive training of the products and services will be provided along side full instruction and support by a strong Internal Sales, Marketing and Software Development team.

About the Business Developer Role

  • Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals. Following through to conduct deal negotiations, contract developments, due diligence, and other business development.
  • Maximise all opportunities in the process of closing a sale.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of specific training requirements, and be able to consult with the client about potential solutions.
  • Create and conduct effective proposal presentations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to gather and submit detailed business information for pricing and presentation of solutions to identified prospects. Following through with proposal creation, pricing and contractual negotiation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospect activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales and follow-up activities within the assigned territory. This will include the use of Microsoft Outlook and Salesforce to maintain accurate records for maximizing territory potential.
  • Provide monthly update on performance against stated targets and KPIs.
  • Provide client feedback to management on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs.

  • A team player.
  • Demonstrated sales skills with a successful track-record of meeting and exceeding sales targets. (Circa £300K).
  • Comfortable meeting and building relationships with senior, ‘C’ level contacts.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Effective, experienced contract closer.
  • Detail orientated with exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Sound decision maker and critical thinker.
  • A sense of urgency and impatience with the status quo.

Experience, Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Sales prospecting and business development skills.
  • Client relationship and rapport building skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present to senior decision makers.
  • Good proposal writing skills.
  • Understanding of the e-learning market, including standards e.g. IEEE, AICC, SCORM, and usability standards.
  • Understanding of learning technologies such as Learning and Content Management Systems.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce an advantage.
